Meet the Team

Tom Gayler is  Arcadia’s Head of Digital Innovation. Being a founding teacher, Tom has led the development of Arcadia’s digital learning program. This culminated in Arcadia becoming an Apple Distinguished School. Tom is an Apple Distinguished Educator for his innovative approach to teaching using technology and he is an Apple Professional Learning Specialist in the Middle East. Tom teaches some of our computing and STREAM curriculum to primary students.

Andy Lyon is Arcadia High School’s specialist Computing teacher. Having worked at the school for the past two years I have introduced Computing to Key Stage 3 and the next step is introducing iGCSE Computer Science at Key Stage 4. I am in my twelfth year of teaching, completing a decade in London before moving to the Middle East. Andy is an Apple Teacher and a Google Certified Educator.

Phil Long is Arcadia’s Head of Primary STREAM and is responsible for curriculum and resource development. As well as having a huge passion for STREAM learning he is an Apple Distinguished teacher and 21st Century educator. Next year, Phil will be one of our STREAM teachers and additionally will  be over seeing the exciting development of our STREAM learning space, after school programme and ELP opportunities.  

Miss Mary Cronin is from Dublin, Ireland. This year in Arcadia she will be teaching STREAM and Computing. Mary has always had a keen interest in the implementation of effective digital technology within the classroom.

As her love for technology and STREAM grew Mary specialised in digital learning as her major specialism in her undergraduate degree. Mary also went on to complete her research project in the area of exploring technology as a tool for integrated, cross-curricular, topic based learning.

Mary was qualified with a Bachelors of Education degree from Dublin City University. Following this, Mary worked in a primary school in Dublin for three years where she taught key stage one and two. In 2021, Mary began part time lecturing in Dublin City University in the module Digital Learning.

In her spare time Mary enjoys long distance running, playing camogie and playing piano. Mary is very excited to take on her new role in Arcadia. She hopes to inspire, develop and enhance each child’s learning experience at Arcadia.
